He started pulling himself up on furniture occasionally. I only saw it once or twice...until Saturday July 12th...that is when he started doing it over and over and over and over. It became his sole mission to crawl (at top speed) to the next furniture item that he felt he needed to pull himself up on. It took him a couple of days to figure out how to sit back down. He would stand for so long, then just finally start to cry because he didn't want to stand anymore. While he is now a master at pulling himself up and standing, on furniture, in his pack and play, and much to my dismay in the bathtub...he is still not "walking" while holding the furniture. Which is fine by me, because I can only imagine how much harder it will become to try to keep up with him!
We have Atticus' new "big-boy" carseat installed in my car. I love it, and I think he is more comfortable than in the infant seat, but it is really kind of a pain having to take him in and out of the seat to run errands instead of just being able to pull the whole carseat out and carry him in that. Luckily he still fits in the infant seat for a little while longer, so we don't have to buy a 2nd big carseat quite yet....soon enough, though.
Atticus' new favorite game is to play with his stacking rings. When they are stacked, he picks them up, dumps them off the spindle, and then goes off to play with something else. Then Ron or I put the rings back on the spindle and from wherever he is in the house (or so it seems!) he can sense this and races top speed back to the ring toy, plays with it for a few minutes, dumps the rings off and is off to play with something else again...... It's a REALLY fun game! ;-)
As if that wasn't enough growing up, he cut his first 2 teeth!
And some random Atticusness from the past month...
