When we got there and got all checked in and FINALLY made it through security (wow...what a pain!) we still had some time to kill, so Atticus played on the chair, went for some walks around the airport, then went to look out the window at the plane he was going to be flying on.
The flight was wonderful! We left on time and actually laded in Tucson about a half hour earlier than we were supposed to. As we took off from Chicago, I gave Atty a bottle and pretty much as soon as it was gone, he curled up against his Mama's chest and slept for almost 2-2 1/2 hours of the 3 hour flight! When he woke up, we read books and played with his stuffed moose and ate some yogurt bites. He was an absolute dream on the plane...I couldn't have wished for him to be better! We got to Tucson, got our luggage, jumped on the shuttle to the hotel and checked into our room. Let me first start by saying, it was 99 degrees here today...HOT, HOT, HOT! Tucson is absolutely beautiful! It is a beautiful desert city surrounded by mountains. And there are cacti EVERYWHERE....all different kinds. It is gorgeous! I love it. The check in at the hotel was incredibly smooth and we headed to our room. After getting checked in to my conference, we headed out for lunch, then out for a swim. There was a really neat little fountain that had water about 4 inches deep that Atticus had a blast playing in! After he tired of that we went in the "big boy" pool.
This is the view from the patio on the back of the hotel . This view is even more amazing at night to see all the lights of the city sparkling below. It's breathtaking!
